The unique privately funded collaboration between Switzerland and Chongqing is set to become a unique global hub for high-tech and cutting-edge industries and services in the hear of Asia. The official opening of the SinoSwiss Technopark took place on December 14. Its facilities are providing state of the art range of diversified business, research and development spaces and lifestyle facilities. The park is set to become a major centre for the local incubation of joint ventures and a doorstep to growth in asian markets for Swiss companies. The park has already strong links with the Swiss Embassy, Swiss Consulate in Chengdu, Swisscham, European Chamber of Commerce, the Canton of Zurich, the Greater Zurich Area, Swissnex, SGE and the Swiss-Chinese Chamber of Commerce.


The SinoSwiss Technopark is already seeking global start-ups for its incubation project via an international competition for new businesses. 12 Swiss companies, including 8 start-ups and 4 SMEs travelled to Chongqing to participate in the competition and the award ceremony and to meet with potential local partners and investors. The Swiss delegation was accompanied by representatives from the government of the Canton of Zurich, the Swiss Consulate in Chengdu, Swissnex and the Swiss-Chinese Chamber of Commerce to celebrate with over 300 guests the official opening of the SinoSwiss Technopark.
